Summer has started!

Omaha Zoo

I found this little monkey at the Zoo...he was so attached to me.

Sebastian and I had a great time at the Omaha Zoo. Some of Sebastian's favorite animals were the gorillas, penguins, and big cats. My favorite thing he said all day was while walking by the male lions, he said, "Well there's the one I wanted to see, we can go home now."

He had to walk through the Jungle Dome with his shirt off because for the last couple of weeks he has been getting the "itchies" when he gets overheated.

#1 Free Spirit (5th or 6th Grade)

I was trying to think back to all the bikes that I have owned (could call mine) during my life time. I was thinking that my first 10-speed was a red, white, and blue Free Spirit from Montgomery Wards, but when I did a little research the Free Spirit was a Sears bike. Pondering a little more I began to think that maybe it was an orange bike, and basically can’t recall what it was (Maybe mom has a picture). I do remember that it ended up breaking at the weld on the down tube with the head tube, and one time I was being cool riding no handed and fell with my head smacking smacking on the ground like a watermelon. Later I upgraded to a Schwinn Varsity. This guy had an orange one too.

A Week After the Tornado

It was a week ago today that the tornado hit Iowa City after the group ride which had depart from College Green Park. Tuesday we met in the park that is now stripped of its beautiful trees

I mowed the yard today (picking up bits of insulation from the Tornado), and now it is off to the group ride (W-SW wind..wonder what we'll do). JMC got 6th in the Tour of Georgia TT, and now is 7th overall.

Steve, Cody, and Mike came over for dinner after the group ride.

Weekend

Sebastian was with Grandma lodi and grandpa Charlie on Friday night and then Nancy on Saturday.

Sebastian update

Sebastian is doing great. Learning a lot of letters and talking a lot. Favorite things include: balls. Trains, cars, and PUZZLES. Some of the words that he has been using lately:

Training

Weather: Cold, slight breeze.
Group:Eppen, McCartney, Ryan N, Jack, me
Time: 2 hours
Ride: (North) sugar bottom-->Morse->railway bed->West Branch road-->scott blvd.
Comments: Good ride, knee felt fine, Lee and Josh meet at the broken spoke

Gym: Lifted legs and arms.
