#1 Free Spirit (5th or 6th Grade)

I was trying to think back to all the bikes that I have owned (could call mine) during my life time. I was thinking that my first 10-speed was a red, white, and blue Free Spirit from Montgomery Wards, but when I did a little research the Free Spirit was a Sears bike. Pondering a little more I began to think that maybe it was an orange bike, and basically can’t recall what it was (Maybe mom has a picture). I do remember that it ended up breaking at the weld on the down tube with the head tube, and one time I was being cool riding no handed and fell with my head smacking smacking on the ground like a watermelon. Later I upgraded to a Schwinn Varsity. This guy had an orange one too.

A Week After the Tornado

It was a week ago today that the tornado hit Iowa City after the group ride which had depart from College Green Park. Tuesday we met in the park that is now stripped of its beautiful trees

I mowed the yard today (picking up bits of insulation from the Tornado), and now it is off to the group ride (W-SW wind..wonder what we'll do). JMC got 6th in the Tour of Georgia TT, and now is 7th overall.

Steve, Cody, and Mike came over for dinner after the group ride.
